CHEST AND BACK
Lots of reps today! Started off with 100 reps each of Barbell Bench Press and Barbell Row using alternating EMOM for 20 minutes. Then a lot of atypical stability work with trap bar press and using the landmine for push up variations. Finished with some explosive movements on the sleds for 100 yards for both chest and back.
Love having access to landmines, sleds, and trap bars. So many great lifts you can incorporate that compliment your main, heavy pushes and pulls. The trap bar presses from this workout require lots of wrist strength and shoulder stability. The landmine push up variations require stability and strength of both the core and shoulder as well ,of course, the chest.
The sled work focused on explosion through the concentric phase of chest press and back row. Be sure to be set up with a solid base and engaged core, then explode through that concentric phase allowing the sled to be pulled or pushed at the end of the movement. Quickly reset and repeat.
